Welcome to Example Federation
Welcome to the Gwynedd-Caernarfon Federation
Our federation is in rural North Wales and includes a large area of the Snowdonia National Park. From the tip of Snowdon, the land dips westwards into the sea surrounding one of the most popular peninsulas; to the north, we have the Menai Straits; and our eastern limit is the beautiful Conwy Valley.
We have the sound of the sea as well as the grandeur of the mountains.
We are a bi-lingual federation and several of our WIs are run in Welsh.
We were established in 1920 and we have the second oldest WI in Wales and England. Although some or our members are octogenarians (or more!) we are very active and young at heart.
We take part in quiz nights, scrabble, crafts and cooking. We have courses in creative writing, mosaics, flower arranging, jewelry and photography. All take part at Plas Tan y Bwlch in Snowdonia. We have also held courses titled "Get Cooking" for young mothers, arranged in local communities.
We make our voices heard from local government to Westminster itself, and we care for the young and the elderly, working for a safer and healthier environment for everyone in our local communities. Whatever we do, we have fun and pleasure in doing it together. Why not join us?
